Office Visits

Our greatest goal is to give you the healthy, straight, and beautiful smile you’ve always wanted. We understand that choosing to receive orthodontic care is a big decision, and we respect your reasons for wanting to improve the way you look and feel.

Our practice will work with you every step of the way to make sure your orthodontic care is as rewarding as possible. We utilize the latest technology, and offer a variety of safe and gentle treatment options to give you the customized, individual care you deserve.

Orthodontics is part of your overall healthcare plan. It requires individualized planning and care to obtain the best possible result. Top-quality X-rays and photos, mounted study models, clinical examination, and medical/dental histories are all part of a thorough diagnosis.

Step 1: Initial Examination

Your initial visit allows Dr. Benson to get acquainted with you and learn about your orthodontic needs. What would you fix if you could? Dr. Benson will give you an oral exam to see which concerns you have and things he may see that are a problem. He will give you an idea about what he can do to help your situation and provide financial and timing ideas.

Step 2: Diagnostic Records — Plan for Health

This visit will include a thorough clinical examination, an intro oral scan to facilitate printing of 3D models, photos of the teeth and face, and orthodontic-specific X-rays.

Step 3: Treatment Consultation and Start

Dr. Benson will design a treatment plan for you and discuss with you any significant risks or limitations to your treatment. In some cases, alternate treatment plans with different results are an option. You need to understand the differences.

Dr. Benson will explain the advantages and disadvantages of any treatment options that may meet your needs. Excellent communication with our patients is essential in understanding how your treatment progresses and ensuring your desires are met. Treatment begins after the Informed Consent and Financial Contract is signed.

Step 4: Treatment Visits

Every four, six, or eight weeks, Dr. Benson will see you to inspect, adjust, or add appliances. Each patient has a sequence of appointments that are specifically planned for the problem and type of appliances that are used. The sequence of visits is planned to lesson treatment time and side effects, and to ensure an excellent result.

Duration of Treatment

With good cooperation and clean appliances, our cases finish anywhere from 12 to 24 months. Rarely do we have cases take longer than the 24-month mark. We will do everything we can to make your treatment go as fast as your body will allow us to.

Every person is different and responds differently to treatment. Keeping regular appointments and following Dr. Benson’s directions will increase your chances of a shorter treatment plan.
